Ecotoxicology
Ecotoxicology investigates the effects of exposure to pollutants in several species of marine invertebrates through both field and laboratoryanalyses. The effects appear to vary with pollutants’ concentration and with organism’s type and age at exposure. With the aim to highlight the potential impacts of different pollutants on the growth rate, reproduction efficiency, and population size of several mollusk species, the current researches are focused to record the biochemical and physiological responses of different stages of the life cycle (from gametes to adults).
