The Room of the Senses

In this room there are several interactive multimedia installations that allow us to understand the different sensory channels that marine animals use to understand how the world around them is made. In addition to the senses that we also possess: smell, sight, touch, balance and hearing, we also discover some “special” senses, like the ability to perceive an electric fields that helps sharks in hunting and that of feel the movements of the water, thanks to the organs of the lateral line, which makes possible the harmonious synchrony of the sardine banks. Then, about hearing, it is impossible not to talk about sounds and so a special corner of the room is dedicated to the singing performance of some marine animals: not only mammals and fish but also crustaceans and molluscs.
